Your first ten minutes with FxMind

What to do in order, the first time you sign in: link your trading account, check your journal filled itself, set the rules you must not break, then ask a question. The full path is Start here, six short steps.

FxMind watches the trading account you already have. You do not move money here and you do not open an account with us to trade. You connect the account you trade, and FxMind reads it: your trades become a journal by themselves, and the rules you must not break become warnings before you break them.

The Start here path

There are six short steps. Each one is its own page and ends with a link to the next. Step 1 makes the account; steps 2 to 6 are the ten minutes below.

  1. Create your account
  2. Link your trading account or import a statement
  3. Your first look at the trading desk
  4. Set your limits and guards
  5. Your journal
  6. Ask the analyst

In a hurry? The four things that matter most are below, in order. About ten minutes, most of it waiting for your first trades to load.

  1. Open Accounts and press Link an account. On the short menu it is under All tools.
  2. Pick MT5 or MT4 and keep Read-only.
  3. Type the Login (your account number), the Investor password and the Server (something like ICMarketsSC-MT5-2). All three come from your broker or your prop firm.
  4. Press Check and link.

Type the server name and pick it from the list. You never choose an address or a port: FxMind finds the broker's servers, tries them and keeps the one that answers fastest. If one goes down later it moves to another by itself.

2. Check your journal filled itself

Open Journal. Your past trades should already be there. FxMind pulls your history from the broker on the first connection, so there is nothing to import and no spreadsheet to keep. More in Start here, step 5.

  • Every trade arrives with its entry, exit, size, fees and swap. Swap is the small fee or credit your broker charges for holding a trade overnight.
  • Trades are grouped the way your platform groups them: one position is one trade, however many fills it took. On MT4 every order is its own position.
  • You add the part a broker cannot know: what you were thinking, a screenshot, a tag, a rating.

A brand new account has no history, so an empty journal here is right, not broken. It fills as you trade.

3. Set the rules you must not break

This is the part most traders skip and then wish they had not. Open Guards. Either pick your prop firm (FxMind copies that firm's published rules for your account type, phase and size) or set your own if you trade your own money. The steps are in Start here, step 4.

From then on FxMind checks your account against every rule and tells you the room you have left in plain numbers: *you can lose $420 more today*. It warns at 70% and again at 90% of a limit, long before the number that ends an account.

4. Ask the analyst something

Open Ask the analyst and ask a real question, such as *what is coming this week for EURUSD?*, or *how did I do on Tuesdays this month?* Answers come with their sources: the calendar entry, the release, the trades it counted. If it cannot show you where a number came from, it will say so rather than invent one. The first time, FxMind asks you to agree to how the AI handles your data: see AI and your data.
