Today is the first item in the menu and the page you land on after sign-in. It answers one question: where do I stand right now? It updates by itself, so you do not need to reload it. Nothing on it is sample data: if a card is empty, you have not produced that data yet.
The top of the page
- The greeting uses your first name: Good morning until 12:00, Good afternoon until 18:00, Good evening after that, on your own clock. Set your time zone in Settings > Profile > Timezone.
- The line above it shows the date and the time, with seconds, in your time zone.
- The three session boxes show Asia, London and New York. Each says open or closed, and the time left or the time until it opens. The hours are fixed in UTC: Asia 00:00 to 09:00, London 07:00 to 16:00, New York 12:00 to 21:00. From Friday 21:00 UTC to Sunday 21:00 UTC all three say weekend.
- The sentence under the greeting counts your linked accounts and open trades, for example 1 linked account, no open trade.
- The trial line appears while you are on the free 14-day Pro trial (days left and the end date), or, before your email is confirmed, asks you to confirm it and offers Send the link again.
Your first week: seven steps
A new account sees a card on Today with seven steps, in order. Each step opens the exact screen you need, with one sentence on why, and ticks by itself when it is really done.
- Link your account, or import your trades. Opens Accounts; the link dialog has the steps (more here). Done when an account exists.
- Review your first trade. Opens your first closed trade in the Journal. Done when any trade has a note, a score, a tag or a playbook.
- Set your limits. Opens Guards. Done when an account has a rule set with at least one rule switched on.
- Read a market brief. Open one market in Market briefs. Done when a written brief is opened.
- Start a day with a plan. Write a day note in the journal notebook; Start my day on Today writes the same note. Done when a day note has a line in the last 30 days.
- Finish the day. Done when a day note in the last 30 days has a discipline score or a mood.
- Do the Sunday review. In the journal's weekly review. Done when goals for the coming week are saved. Any day works.
Press the X at the top right of the card to hide it. Undo shows for a few seconds. The card goes for good when all seven are done. A tick never takes itself back if you later delete the note. The list is saved on your account, so it stays hidden on your other devices too. Visitors in the demo account see a short orientation card instead, because they cannot link or save anything.
The cards, once an account is linked
- Net P&L, 30 days
- What your closed trades made or lost in the last 30 days, after commission and swap. Below it: the change against the 30 days before, in your account currency, and a small line of the running total.
- Win rate
- The share of closed trades that made money, with the count of trades won and lost. 6 winners out of 10 is 60%.
- Profit factor
- Money won divided by money lost. Above 1.00 the account grew. The line below shows both totals.
- Per trade
- The average result of one trade (net result divided by number of trades), with your average R below it. R is the result measured in units of what you risked: a full stop-out is -1R.
- Open trades
- How many trades are running now and their combined profit or loss, which moves with the price.
- Profit over time
- A line of the running total of your closed trades. Before your first closed trade, the open trades table takes its place.
- Next news
- Up to five coming releases with high or medium impact. Each row has the time in your time zone, the currency, the name, and three dots for high impact. Under it: the average move in pips of the pair in the 15 minutes after the last 12 releases, and the forecast when there is one. The countdown turns amber 45 minutes before a high-impact release. A pip is the smallest usual price step, 0.0001 on EURUSD.
- Open trades table
- Every open trade on every linked account, live, with pending orders counted under it. Accounts in its corner opens the account list.
- Guards
- Two lines on what guards do and a button, Open guards. If your plan has no guards it says so and shows See plans. Guards start on the Trader plan, and the Pro trial includes them.
- Currency exposure
- Shown only while a trade is open. It adds all open trades on all linked accounts into the currencies they risk, so two trades that are really one bet on the US dollar show as one. More here.
- Recent trades
- Your latest closed trades, with a link to the Journal.
Cards that appear when something happens
Today shows at most one of these cards at a time, and at most one new card a day. The X closes a card for good. They come from your own data and rules, not from AI.
- A high-impact release within the hour on a pair you hold: a button to open the News calendar.
- Three losing trades closed today: a look at What-if exits in the Journal.
- Sunday, in your own time zone: the weekly review.
- An account with a prop firm's rules: the prop tracker, your challenge progress.
- 20 closed trades: See what works in the Journal.
- On the simple menu, a card also shows when a tool you have not opened has something new: a brief written in the last day, a daily review made in the last two days, or a Strategy Lab run that finished in the last week.
When a card is empty
- No account linked yet. You see the checklist, Next news and Guards. The result figures wait for data, so they are not shown.
- Linked, but no closed trade yet. The five figures and the profit line are hidden. Your results says No closed trade yet. Trades import by themselves a few seconds after they close in MetaTrader. If an older trade is missing, see how trades reach your journal.
- No open trade. The table says so. A trade you open in MetaTrader appears shortly after you open it.
- Next news says nothing is scheduled. Either no high or medium release is coming, or our calendar only reaches a certain date and the page says which one. Our calendar feed is not answering means we cannot show what is next. Try again in a minute.
- A red bar with Try again. The accounts or the trades did not load. Press the retry button.
