Net currency exposure

See every open position added up by the currency it actually risks, in one number per currency, so three different pairs that are really the same bet stand out.

Long EURUSD, long GBPUSD and short USDJPY all lose together if the US dollar rises. They look like three trades and they are one bet. Exposure splits every open position, on every linked account, into the currencies it risks and adds them up live, in one display currency.

Where to look

  • On the desk: a bar sits above the Open trades tab under the chart. Press it, or open the Currency exposure tab, for the full table.
  • On Today: the same panel shows when you have an open position.

Use Show amounts in to pick the currency the totals are shown in. A currency with no live rate yet is listed as left out of the total, never guessed.

The warning

A warning appears when one currency's net is more than 3 times your own largest single position, for example: You are short USD 3.2x your biggest single position, across 3 positions. The numbers come from your live positions and current FX rates in your browser. Nothing is stored or delayed.
