How the analyst shows its sources

Every fact in an analyst answer has a numbered source chip: a news release, a COT report, a headline, your own trade and more. If there is no source, it says it does not know.

Every fact in an analyst answer carries a small numbered chip. The same sources are listed under the answer. If no data supports a claim, the analyst says it does not know. It does not fill the gap with a guess. To ask a question, see the analyst page.

The kinds of source

  • Economic calendar and reaction history. A release with its time, the forecast (what economists expected), the previous and actual numbers, and how far the market moved after past releases.
  • COT report. COT means Commitments of Traders. It is a weekly report from the CFTC, a US regulator, on futures positions. FxMind reads it to see whether large speculators are betting a currency will rise or fall. The chip shows the report date.
  • Headline. The news story, who published it and when.
  • Your data. A trade in your journal, your record on a pair, your open position, your linked account, or a prop firm rule you set.
  • Our price data. Indicators, key levels and candles that FxMind computed from its own price history.
  • Session brief. One of the written market briefs.

What a source chip opens

  1. Tap a numbered chip in the answer.
  2. A small card opens with the kind of source and its reference code.
  3. Where the source lives on a page of its own, press Open the calendar, Open the journal, Open accounts, Open guards or Open briefs to see the record.

If a number in the answer looks wrong, the chip is where you check it. The news calendar shows the past reactions behind a release.

What it will not do

  • In a normal chat it does not tell you to buy or sell, and it does not give entries, stops or targets. It explains risk and what is going on. The decision is yours.
  • It does not predict prices.
  • It does not answer from memory. If the data is missing, it says so.

Questions that work well

  • What USD news is due before New York closes, and how did EURUSD move the last few times
  • Are big traders betting on gold going up this week, compared with the last year
  • Show my trades opened within 30 minutes of big news this month. What was the result
  • How far am I from my daily loss limit right now
  • Which weekday and session cost me the most this quarter
