MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI apps to use tools. FxMind runs an MCP server at https://mcp.fxmind.ai/mcp. Connect it and your AI can look up live quotes, candles, the chart's indicators, trading sessions, the economic calendar with past surprises, headlines, session briefs, COT positioning, your accounts, positions, journal and risk rules. Every answer names where the number came from.
What the AI can do, key by key
- market:read: prices, candles, indicators (RSI, EMA, MACD, Bollinger Bands, ATR, ADX, Stochastic, Donchian and more), sessions, calendar, release history, headlines, briefs, COT, instrument sizes.
- journal:read: your accounts (never a password), open positions, pending orders, journal trades and stats, your guard rules, daily reviews.
- alarms:write: create and delete price alarms and news alerts, with your plan's limits.
- trade:write: place, change, close and cancel orders, only on the accounts and symbols you pick, within your limits. Off unless you turn it on.
Make a key for your AI
- Open Settings > AI apps (MCP) and press Create a key. You need the Elite or Desk plan and two-step sign-in (the page walks you through setting it up).
- Name it after the app (Claude laptop), and tick only the scopes it needs.
- For trading, also pick the accounts, symbols, the most lots per order, open positions, orders a day and hours, then read and accept the risk text.
- Enter your two-step code. The key is shown once: copy it into your AI app now.
Paste it into your app
Every app needs the same two things: the address https://mcp.fxmind.ai/mcp and the header Authorization: Bearer fxm_... with your key. Never put the key in the address.
- Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http fxmind https://mcp.fxmind.ai/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer fxm_..."- Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json)
{"mcpServers":{"fxmind":{"url":"https://mcp.fxmind.ai/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer fxm_..."}}}}- Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json)
{"mcpServers":{"fxmind":{"command":"npx","args":["mcp-remote","https://mcp.fxmind.ai/mcp","--header","Authorization:${FXMIND_AUTH}"],"env":{"FXMIND_AUTH":"Bearer fxm_..."}}}}
ChatGPT and other apps: if the app lets you add a custom MCP connector with a header, use the same address and header. Apps that only offer an OAuth sign-in cannot use an FxMind key yet.
Orders: draft or direct
With Draft: I confirm each order (the default) every order the AI makes waits in Settings > API and in your inbox. Nothing reaches your broker until you press Confirm, within 15 minutes. Direct: sent at once sends immediately and needs a second acknowledgement. In both modes your guard rules check the order the same way they check an order from the desk, and a warning is never accepted by the AI for you.
Change a key later
Press Edit on a key in Settings > API to change its name, what it can do, the accounts and symbols it may trade, its limits, hours, mode and expiry. Saving asks you to confirm it is you. If your account has a passkey that has been on it for at least 24 hours, only that passkey confirms a change to a key (making one, changing one, resuming one, or allowing AI orders on an account again); a code does not. Without such a passkey, a code from your authenticator app confirms it. If a passkey was removed in the last 24 hours, changes to keys wait until that day has passed; revoking and pausing always work. The key itself stays the same, so you do not paste anything into your AI app again; the app shows new tools the next time it connects. New trading rules ask you to accept the risk text again, and we email you every time a key is changed.
Stop it at any time
- Press Pause orders on a key in Settings > API: its order tools stop on the next call.
- Press Block AI orders on an account: no key can trade it, your own clicks still work.
- Revoke the key: the app loses access on its next call.
Limits
Per key: 60 calls a minute, 10,000 calls and 2,000 tool uses a UTC day. Orders count against the daily number you set.
