The Developers page: use the FxMind API from a script or a spreadsheet

The API guide explains how a program can read your journal, stats, the news calendar and briefs, and set price alarms. Who has it, how to make a key, the limits, and what to do when a call is refused.

An API is a way for a program, not a person, to ask FxMind for your data. Your script sends a request to an address and gets JSON back (a plain text format that spreadsheets and code both read). The guide is the page at /app/developers. It has no menu entry: open it from Settings > API with Read the API guide, or type the address.

Who has it

API access is part of the Elite and Desk plans. On another plan, Settings > API says so and shows See plans; keys you made before stay listed as Paused and work again when the plan includes the API. Making a key also needs two-step sign-in: set up an authenticator or passkey first.

What it can do

Read your journal
Accounts (never a login or password), trades with their review, tags, stats and grouped reports. Scope journal:read.
Read market data
The news calendar in UTC, up to 31 days at a time, and today's written market briefs. Scope market:read.
Price alarms
List your alarms, create one or delete one. Scopes alarms:read and alarms:write.
Never trading
There is no scope to place, change or close a trade through the API.

Make a key and your first call

  1. Open Settings > API and press New key.
  2. Type a Name that says where you will use it, for example Sheets export.
  3. Tick only the scopes the script needs. You can change them later with Edit; the key itself stays the same.
  4. Choose an Expiry: 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or Never. A key that expires does less harm if it leaks.
  5. Confirm it is you with your authenticator or passkey. The whole key, which starts with fxm_, is shown once. Copy it into your script's secret settings, for example an environment variable called FXMIND_API_KEY.
  6. On the Developers page, copy the Is my key working? example in curl, Python or JavaScript and run it. It calls /api/v1/me and answers with the key's name, scopes and how many calls are left today.

Every call sends the key in a header: Authorization: Bearer fxm_.... Never put the key in the address: FxMind refuses it there and you should revoke that key, because addresses end up in logs. The base address is https://api.fxmind.ai/api/v1.

The page's examples

  • Is my key working? The smallest call.
  • Every closed trade since a date. Trades come newest first, up to 500 a page. When nextCursor is not null, ask again with it for the next page. Money is in cents: divide by 100.
  • Set a price alarm. The same alarm the Desk sets. Your plan's alarm limit applies.

Below the examples, a table lists every address with its scope, and the page shows the full contract as an OpenAPI document you can import into Postman or Insomnia.

Limits and formats

  • 60 calls a minute per key. Above that you get rate_limited (429): wait the seconds in the Retry-After header.
  • 10,000 calls a day per key, counted in UTC. The count restarts at 00:00 UTC. Every answer carries X-Quota-Remaining.
  • Up to 10 working keys at a time. Revoked keys stay listed for 30 days.
  • Money is whole cents of the account currency with its code beside it. Different currencies are never added together.
  • Times are UTC in ISO 8601, for example 2026-09-27T14:30:00Z.

When a call is refused

api_key_required (401)
No key sent. Put it in the Authorization header.
invalid_api_key (401)
The key is not complete or not valid. If lost, revoke it and make a new one.
api_key_revoked or api_key_expired (401)
Make a new key in Settings > API.
key_in_url (400)
Move the key to the header, then revoke that key.
insufficient_scope (403)
The key lacks the scope the call needs. Make a key that has it.
api_plan_suspended (403)
Your plan does not include the API now. Keys work again when it does.
rate_limited or daily_quota_reached (429)
Wait, or come back after 00:00 UTC.
too_many_attempts (429)
Too many wrong keys from your address. Wait 10 minutes.

Keep keys safe

  • One key per script, with only the scopes it needs and an expiry.
  • Keep keys in environment variables or a password manager, never in a spreadsheet other people open.
  • Every new key is emailed to you, and the list shows when and from where it was last used.
  • If a key may have leaked, press Revoke in Settings > API. It stops on its next call.

The Developers page covers the API only. The Webhooks tab in Settings is the other direction: a TradingView alert calls FxMind. See TradingView webhooks. To connect Claude, Cursor or another AI app with a key, see connect your AI. Seats and keys on Desk: team seats and API keys.
