A webhook is a web address that another program calls by itself. TradingView can call yours the moment one of its alerts fires, without you touching your phone. You choose what FxMind does when that happens.
What a hook can do
- Send me a message
- An email, a push notice, and a Telegram or Discord message if you have them connected
- Mark it on my desk
- A line on your FxMind desk, right away, with no email or push
- Draft an order
- FxMind fills in an order from the alert. Nothing is sent until you tap Confirm
Plans: Free has no webhooks. Trader has 5, Pro 15, Elite 25 and Desk 40. Draft an order needs Pro or above and an account linked with full trading access (the master password).
Create the hook in FxMind
- Open Settings > Webhooks and press Add a webhook.
- Type a Name so you remember which alert it is, for example EURUSD scalper.
- Under What should it do, choose one of the three.
- For Draft an order, also choose the Account, the Size (lots), and, if you want them, the Stop-loss (pips) and Take-profit (pips). Draft waits for sets how long the draft waits for your tap: 1 to 30 minutes, 2 by default.
- Press Create.
- Copy the Webhook URL and the Message template now. The address is shown only this once.
Steps in TradingView
- Open the chart, right-click it and choose Add alert (or edit an alert you already have).
- Under Notifications, turn on Webhook URL and paste the address into the box.
- In the Message box, delete what is there and paste the template. TradingView fills in the numbers by itself when the alert fires.
- Save the alert.
- Back in FxMind, press Send a test on the hook. Check your notifications to see it arrive.
What a draft order does
A draft order never sends by itself. It waits for your tap: Confirm sends it, Discard throws it away, and it expires when its time is up. Confirming runs the same rules check every other order goes through. If a rule blocks it, nothing is sent.
When it does not arrive
Open the hook's menu and press View activity. Every call is listed, accepted or refused, with the reason in plain words. The usual ones:
- The address did not match: copy it again from FxMind.
- Your linked account does not offer this symbol: the alert names a symbol your broker does not list.
- Too many alerts close together: one was skipped. The same alert twice within a few minutes counts once.
- The call did not come from one of TradingView's own servers: only TradingView can call a hook.
- Your plan no longer allows this: see the plans above.
