Team seats and API keys

Seats let mentors or team viewers read your journal: 2 seats on Elite and 5 on Desk, yours included. Elite and Desk can also make API keys to pull your own trades, stats and calendar into a script or a sheet.

A seat is one named person with their own FxMind sign-in. Elite has 2 seats and Desk has 5, and you use one. The other seats go to mentors or team viewers who read your journal and never trade with it. Extra seats cost $15 a month each on the Billing page. An admin seat can invite and remove other seats but never reaches your billing or settings.

Invite someone

  1. Open Settings and the Team tab.
  2. Type their Email.
  3. Pick a Role: Viewer reads your journal, stats and daily reviews; Admin also invites and removes viewers and mentors (only the account holder can make an admin).
  4. Tick Let them comment on trades and days if you want that.
  5. Press Send invitation. The link works once, for 7 days, for that address only.

They see your trades, notes, tags, screenshots, stats, playbooks and daily reviews. They never see broker logins and passwords, billing, settings or API keys, they cannot trade, and they cannot change your journal. To remove someone, press End seat (or Withdraw for an invitation not yet accepted). Mentors take seats from the same pool and are managed under Journal, Mentors. Team: Settings > Team.

Making an API key

API access is on Elite and Desk. A key starts with fxm_ and lets a script read your trades, accounts (never a login or password), stats, the news calendar and market briefs, and read or set price alarms. It cannot place a trade by itself. Keys are in Settings > API. The tab shows the call limits for each key and how many keys you can have at once.

  1. Turn on two-step sign-in first. Making a key needs a code from your authenticator app or a passkey.
  2. Open Settings, the API tab, and press New key.
  3. Give it a Name that says where you will use it, for example Sheets export.
  4. Tick only what it can do under What it can do. You can change this later with Edit; the key itself stays the same.
  5. Pick an Expiry: 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or never. A key that expires does less harm if it leaks.
  6. Press Make key, confirm it is you, then press Copy key. The full key is shown once. Save it in a password manager, then press I copied it.

Scripts send the key in a header: Authorization: Bearer fxm_.... Never put a key in a web address or in code you share. Revoke a key any time with Revoke; revoked keys stay listed for 30 days. Code examples: /app/developers.
