Tags: group your trades for the stats

Tags say what you traded and what went wrong. Start with 14 common ones, rename them, add your own, and the Stats page shows what each one makes or costs.

A tag is a label you put on a trade. There are three kinds: a Setup is the idea behind the trade, a Mistake is what you would not do again, and a Tag is anything else you want to filter by. The stats then add up each label, for example what your mistakes cost you in total.

Get started

  1. Open a trade in Journal, and look at Your review. Review a trade.
  2. If you have no tags, press Add the common tags. You get 14: 5 setups, 7 mistakes and 2 tags. You can rename or delete any of them.
  3. Or press Create my own.

Tag a trade

  1. In Your review, press the tags that fit. A pressed tag is highlighted. Press it again to take it off.
  2. Need a new one? Press Add under the kind, type the name (up to 40 characters) and press Enter.
  3. Press Save review.

Rename, delete and group tags

  1. In Journal, press Manage tags. You can also press the gear next to Your review.
  2. To add one, type the Tag name, pick its category in the box next to it (Setup, Mistake, Custom or one of your own), and press Add.
  3. To rename, press the pencil button on a tag, change the name and press Save.
  4. To delete, press the bin button on a tag and confirm with Delete tag. It is removed from the trades that had it. The trades stay.
  5. To group tags your way, use Categories at the top of the same window: type a name such as Emotions and press Add category. Then pick it when you add a tag. Deleting a category keeps its tags, they move to no category. You can keep up to 30 categories and 200 tags.

Where the tags show up

The Stats page has reports By setup, By mistake and By tag, with the number of trades, net result, win rate and average R. The line Losing trades tagged with a mistake shows what your mistakes cost. The Edge and insights page ranks your setups and tags by expectancy. Tags need trades to count: a group of 3 trades says little. Edge.
