Some of your worst costs are trades you never took: you hesitated, you were busy, you doubted a good setup. The missed trades log shows what they would have done, so you can see whether you are skipping your best ideas.
Log a missed setup
- Open Journal, What works, then the Missed trades card.
- In Log a missed setup, type the Symbol, for example EURUSD, and pick Buy or Sell.
- Set When you saw it.
- Type the Planned entry. Add a Planned stop and a Planned target if you had them. Without one of them, the page cannot check the outcome.
- Optional: pick a Playbook, and write Why you did not take it, for example
hesitatedoralready in a trade. - Press Log it.
Read the outcome
The table's column Would have says what the price did after your planned entry:
- Hit target
- Price reached your target first
- Hit stop
- Price reached your stop first
- Hit neither (yet)
- Neither was reached so far
- No price history
- FxMind has no price candles for that symbol and time
- No stop or target to check
- You logged neither, so there is nothing to compare
If stop and target were both touched inside the same one-minute candle, it assumes the stop hit first. A stop is the price where a trade closes by itself to limit the loss.
The report by setup
The panel Missed trades by setup lists your playbooks with how many setups you missed and the share that would have hit target. A playbook you keep skipping that would have paid is worth a second look. Playbooks.
To remove an entry, press the delete button at the end of its row. Missed trades work on every plan and never touch your broker account.
