On a guarded link (made with the master password), a rule can be set to Act at once or Ask me first. Either way, nothing happens until you give permission on the Guards page, after a two-step sign-in code. This is FxMind's permission to touch your money, and you can withdraw it at any time. FxMind can close a trade or part of it, move a stop loss to the entry price, or cancel a pending order. It never opens a trade, adds to one or widens a stop.
What you need first
- A plan that includes automatic actions: Pro or above.
- A guarded link on the account. In Accounts, open the account menu and choose Upgrade to guarded. See manage a linked account.
- Two-step sign-in turned on: set up 2FA.
- The Automatic actions switch on the account's own page is on. If it is off, the Guards page says so and links to the account.
Give permission
- Open Guards and pick the account.
- At the top, press Allow automatic actions.
- Choose how long FxMind waits for your answer: 30, 60, 120 or 300 seconds. This only matters for rules set to Ask me first.
- Choose what happens if you do not answer in time: Do nothing and tell me, or Act as if I said yes.
- Read the text, tick I read this and I allow it, and press Allow. Enter your 2FA code if asked.
- Open a rule, find Automatic action, and choose Warn only, Ask me first or Act at once. Choose what it does, for example Close all trades, and Act at, the share of the limit used when it should act.
Ask me first
When a rule reaches your level, FxMind asks you by push, Telegram, Discord and in the app, with a countdown. Press Act to go ahead or Not now to decline. With no answer, it does what you chose above. Change the wait or the fallback any time with Change wait time.
Receipts
Every action, decided or not, gets a receipt under Actions and receipts on the Guards page: the rule, the reading that triggered it, when it was asked, decided, sent and finished, what was closed and at what price, and who decided. Times are in UTC. You can export the list with Export CSV. If an action did not go ahead, the receipt says why, for example the market was closed, the trade was already closed, or the spread was wider than your limit.
Take the permission back
Press Withdraw permission on the Guards page and confirm. FxMind stops every automatic action on that account at once and cancels questions waiting for your answer. Your rules keep warning you.
Protection lock
The Protection lock is a separate safeguard on the Guards page, from Trader up. You pick a wait time of 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours. While it is on, any change that lowers your protection waits that long, and you can cancel it. If you reach your daily or maximum loss limit, or press Lock me now (hold for 2 seconds), the account is locked for that time. A lock cannot be ended early. On a guarded link FxMind closes open trades and any new trade during a lock; on a read-only link it only locks your settings. FxMind cannot block the MetaTrader app itself, so a trade opened during a lock is closed right after your broker accepts it and can lose the spread and some slippage.
