A playbook is a setup with its rules, for example your London breakout and the conditions that make it valid. The checklist puts those rules in front of you at the moment you place the trade, not only afterwards in your review.
Turn it on
- Open the Journal and go to Playbooks.
- Open the playbook you want to check.
- Switch on Check before I trade.
- Mark the rules you want to force yourself to tick as Required.
- Save the playbook.
At the ticket
- Open the order ticket for a new trade on the desk. The Playbook checklist shows inside it.
- With more than one checklist playbook, pick one under Which playbook, or choose None for this trade to send without one this time.
- Tick the rules you actually see on this trade.
- The send button stays off until every required rule is ticked: Tick every required rule to send this order.
One-click and scheduled orders
One-click trading cannot show a checklist, so with a required playbook it opens the ticket instead of sending at once. Scheduled orders skip the checklist because your rules check runs again the moment they fire. Your trade review later shows which rules were actually ticked before you traded, apart from anything ticked afterwards.
