The simulator takes your closed trades, puts them in a random order, and replays them over your next trades. It does this 5,000 times, each time in a different order. It never predicts the market: it reshuffles history you already made. Equity is the value of your account, balance plus open results. Drawdown is how far it falls from its highest point.
Run it
- Open Journal, then Practice, then Simulator. Pick an account in Pick an account. One account at a time, so two currencies are never mixed.
- In the Monte Carlo panel, set Trades to project (5 to 300). This is how many future trades each run replays.
- Set Drawdown to watch for, as a percent of today's equity. For example 10 asks how often a run falls 10%.
- Set Ruin threshold: how much of the account counts as wiped out. 100 means all of it.
- Press Run the simulation.
What it shows
- Median ending equity: the middle outcome. Half the runs ended higher, half lower.
- Middle 80% of outcomes: the range that most runs ended inside. The chart draws it as a fan, with the middle half and the median path inside it. Press Show the numbers for the table behind it.
- Worst drawdown seen: the deepest fall in any run.
- Chance of a 10% drawdown (or the number you set) and Chance of ruin.
If your trades have stop losses, each trade is counted in R (your risk on the trade) and the page shows the typical 1R it used. If some trades have no stop, it runs in money instead and says so.
Limits
With fewer than 30 closed trades the page warns that the result is thin: more trades narrow the range. A paid plan is needed (Trader and above). On Free the page shows a notice with a link to the plans, and the rest of the journal stays free.
