Short answer
- Guards watch a linked account and warn before a prop firm rule breaks or a trade holds into big news. Warnings are on every paid plan; on Pro and above, a guarded link can also close or reduce a trade, under limits the trader sets.
- Behaviour guards are a separate family: they notice patterns rather than measure a limit. FxMind's catalogue names revenge trading, loss streaks, overtrading, hyperactivity, martingale (bigger size after a loss), averaging down (adding to a loser) and a grid of orders.
- There is no rule literally named "emotional" or "tilt". These are the honest names: a pattern detector for a specific behaviour, described in plain words on the alert.
- Behaviour guards warn; they do not close, reduce or cancel anything on their own. The one exception is opt-in: a trader can choose to have FxMind close the newest entry of a martingale or averaging-down pattern, and only after asking first.
Words used here
- Guard
- One rule watching a linked account: a loss limit, a news window, or a behaviour pattern.
- Guarded link
- An account linked with the master password and limits the trader sets. Only a guarded link lets a guard close or reduce a trade.
- Revenge trading
- A bigger trade opened right after a loss, sized to win it back rather than sized to the account.
- Loss streak
- Several losing trades in a row.
- Overtrading
- Too many trades in a short window, past what the trader's own plan calls for.
- Hyperactivity
- Order and click activity far above the trader's normal pace, whether or not each order becomes a trade.
- Martingale
- Making the next trade bigger specifically because the last one lost.
- Averaging down
- Adding to a position that is already losing, instead of closing it.
What Guards do
A guard is one rule watching a linked MT5 or MT4 account: a loss limit, a news window, a trading-hours rule, a size limit, or a pattern in how trades are placed. Guards warn on every linked account, on every paid plan. Acting (closing a trade, closing half, moving a stop or cancelling an order) needs a guarded link: the account linked with the master password, with the actions and limits the trader turned on. Guards never open a trade, add to one, or widen a stop, on any plan.
The behaviour family
Most guards measure a number against a limit: a daily loss floor, a maximum size, a news window. Behaviour guards are different: they notice a pattern in how trades are placed, not a number crossing a line. FxMind's catalogue names them plainly: revenge trading (a bigger trade right after a loss), loss streak (losses in a row), overtrading (too many trades in a short window), hyperactivity (order activity far above normal), martingale (bigger size specifically because the last trade lost), averaging down (adding to a losing position instead of closing it) and grid pattern (a grid of orders around the current price).
They warn. They mostly do not act.
Behaviour guards fire a notice when the pattern shows up, once per position or trade idea, and it is repeated in the daily digest so it is not missed. That notice does not close, reduce or cancel anything by itself, on any plan, guarded link or not. The one exception is opt-in and asks first: a trader can turn on a setting that offers to close the newest entry of a martingale, averaging-down or too-many-entries pattern, and FxMind asks before doing it rather than acting on its own.
What each plan gets
Guard warnings are on every paid plan: Trader, Pro and above. Guard actions (closing or reducing a trade under the limits a trader set on a guarded link) are on Pro and above. The Free plan does not include Guards. Behaviour guards themselves stay warn-only across every plan; a plan difference changes whether metered rules like a daily loss limit can act, not whether a behaviour pattern can.
Your own limits, too. Besides the behaviour guards, My limits holds four numbers you choose: risk on one trade, the most you lose in a day, trades a day and trading hours. FxMind warns you as you near each one. Free has the trades-a-day limit only; Trader and above have all four, and Guards choose from 65 rule types. Nudges are off until you turn them on, on every plan: one plain line when a trade that just closed broke your own limit, such as Trade 4 today, your limit is 3 trades. See /features and /pricing.
An honest history of what guards have enforced
Guards have not always worked exactly as described. A defect found and fixed on 2026-09-21 meant that, before that date, several loss-limit rules were not correctly counting realized trade profit and loss on live accounts, so an account relying on those rules to stop it at a floor was not reliably stopped by them. It was fixed the same day it was found, and is not a claim FxMind makes about guard enforcement before that date.
Questions
- 01
Does FxMind close my trade if I revenge trade?
No, not on its own. A behaviour guard notices the pattern and warns you. The one exception is an opt-in setting that offers to close the newest entry of a martingale or averaging-down pattern, and it asks first.
- 02
Is there a rule called "emotional trading" or "tilt"?
No. FxMind's catalogue names the specific pattern instead: revenge trading, loss streak, overtrading, hyperactivity, martingale, averaging down, grid pattern. That is what the alert says.
- 03
Do I need Pro or above to get warnings?
No. Guard warnings are on every paid plan (Trader, Pro and above). Pro and above add the ability for a guarded link to close or reduce a trade under limits you set.
- 04
Have FxMind's guards always worked correctly?
A defect found and fixed on 2026-09-21 meant several loss-limit rules were not correctly counting realized trade P&L before that date. It is fixed now; FxMind does not claim reliable enforcement of those rules before that date.
- 05
Can a guard open or add to a trade?
No. No guard, on any plan or link, ever opens a position, adds to one, or widens a stop. That is true of every rule in the catalogue.
